He made the way, all you need to do is follow….
Instruction from the Lord is intimate because it’s one to one – just you and Jesus. Jesus speaks softly and expressly to you. Jesus has already made provision for this intimate instruction.
· He gave you a new heart just so your relationship could go deeper:
Ezekiel 36:26-27: I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Jeremiah 31:33-34: But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
· He took sin out of the way…freeing communication.
Colossians 2:13-14: And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Psalm 66:18: If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.
Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.
· To prove His love and commitment to you, He constantly reveals His heart to you.
John 14:21-23: He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.
John 15:15: No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
· Only the child of God can receive intimate instruction…no one else will understand it.
Matthew 13:11-12: He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
