His Priceless Daughter
Being the only girl and the firstborn, I was blessed by growing up with a father who truly cherished me. To this day my daddy still calls me, “Princess.” His love for me even shined through those dark years of his alcoholism.
Sadly, I know for most women, they did not have good earthly fathers. Some of my dearest friends were raped and beaten by their own father. One in particular was molested from the time she was 7 years old and as a young girl her father impregnated her then forced her to have an abortion….That sister had NO love at home, only pain…Her image of a father was destroyed on every level.
I so wish I could share my dad with you. I wish I could give you some of the blessing God gave me. But I am comforted knowing that we all share the same Heavenly Father. And as wonderful as my earthly father is, he pales in comparison to our Abba ….
This morning, I ask you just to open your heart,
even though it may feel broken,
afraid,
or angry…
Come with me, let’s delve deep into the Word and see what a true Father is like.
You are God’s princess; His daughter ~ blood bought, redeemed at the highest price ~ because to God YOU HAVE INFINITE WORTH!
Psalm 45:13-15: The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace; her clothing is woven with gold. She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colors…with gladness and rejoicing…they shall be brought; they shall enter the King’s palace.
She shall be very splendid, and highly esteemed in the eyes of all …The king’s daughter is all glorious within… The glory of the church is spiritual glory… it is the glory of the soul…it is glory in God’s sight, and it is an earnest of eternal glory. The glory of the saints falls not within the view of a carnal eye… [it] is hidden with Christ in God…true glory …is in the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible (1 Peter 3:4), whose praise is not of men, but of God (Romans 2:29). For her rich apparel: Though all her glory is within…her clothing also is of wrought gold; the conversation [behavior] of Christians…must be enriched with good works, not gay and gaudy ones, like paint and flourish, but substantially good, like gold; and it must be accurate and exact, like wrought gold, which is worked with a great deal of care and caution. ~ Matthew Henry
