In Africa, the literacy rate is shockingly low. Most of the ladies are able to speak English in addition to their language/dialect. However, it is common that they cannot read or write in their own language. To overcome this obstacle, Rabuna Fi also provides literacy classes each week. Though they have grown tremendously through our discipleship program, now they hunger to read the Word on their own. The classes are free and anyone is welcome to join. The students are given a Bible in their own language: Arabic, Acholi, Dinka or Mari. They learn to read directly from the scriptures and this stays in line with our vision and our heart for discipleship. The classroom is opened to any adult who wishes to attend. We provide certificates for each level successfully completed. The graduates are able to study the scriptures and grow in their relationship with the Lord.
It is our prayer that one day these women and the women in America will be able to connect as prayer partners and encourage one another in the faith through a correspondence fellowship.
